Inside Athena: More Than A Decade At Cape Regency For Lead C.N.A.

Cape Regency Lead C.N.A. Petune McFalling

CENTERVILLE, M.A. — Petune McFalling moved to the United States in 2009 and, three years later, joined the Cape Regency Rehabilitation & Health Care Center team.

Now as Lead C.N.A. on the second floor, she held prior positions as a Housekeeper and Dietary Aide. In those roles, she fell in love with the residents at the Massachusetts center and the team at Cape Regency.

“They make you feel like they are a part of your family,” she said. “I love the facility and I love the management and I love the residents that I work with.”

She starts her day by going through the duties of the other Certified Nursing Assistants and then takes on her own tasks. She is checking to ensure the floor is running smoothly, the call lights are being answered, and the residents are okay.

Director of Nursing Services Sherri Stivaletta called McFalling a type of employee everyone wants to have.

“Petune is one of my best C.N.A.s,” she said. “She is so dedicated and professional.”

She continued to say all the residents and families love McFalling and Stivaletta “can’t say enough good things” about her.

McFalling said she learns a lot in her role about compassion and management. She’ll often interact with residents’ family members and finds that treating them with love, kindness, and respect helps build the needed trust.
